Keystone Passport Recall

There's a reason that we have federal safety laws for travel trailers and Rv's and coaches. Here's a good example. Do you own one of these potentially dangerous lemon travel trailers?

Vehicle Make / Model: Model Year(s):
KEYSTONE PASSPORT 2012
Manufacturer: KEYSTONE RV COMPANYMfr's Report Date: OCT 14, 2011
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 11V513000 NHTSA Action Number: N/A
Component: EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE
Potential Number of Units Affected: 30
Summary:
KEYSTONE IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012 PASSPORT TRAVEL TRAILERS MANUFACTURED FROM SEPTEMBER 15, 2011, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 28, 2011. THE REAR LIVING ROOM IS MISSING AN EGRESS WINDOW.
Consequence:
IN THE EVENT THAT AN EMERGENCY EVACUATION IS NECESSARY, THE ABSENCE OF AN EGRESS WINDOW WILL INCREASE THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE WINDOW CURRENTLY INSTALLED WITH AN EGRESS WINDOW
Federal safety laws require that there be an "egress" window in your travel trailer so that if there's an accident and the door is unable to be opened, you can open the "egress" window and escape. It's not a new law. Designing travel trailers to comply with the law is not a new idea. Some get it. Some, apparently, don't get it at all.
